Library holding Scholastic Book Fair

The Demopolis Public Library is hosting a Scholastic Book Fair fundraiser the week of November 17-21 in the first floor meeting room of the library.

With the look and feel of a bustling bookstore, this weeklong book fair will feature mobile cases full of affordable books based on characters and subjects kids love and want to read about. From newly-released books and best sellers to award-winning titles and perennial favorites, we will have books for children, teens and adults at affordable prices.  Scholastic provides the books, planning tools and display cases for the events, which are run by librarians and volunteers.

“Giving books is the first step in helping kids develop a lifelong love of reading, which has been proven to create a strong foundation for future academic success,” says Library Director Morgan Allen. “Now, gift giving couldn’t be any simpler with our Scholastic Book Fair. Our librarians are available to help you choose the perfect book for your loved one. Whether they are 6 years old or 60 years old, we will have the perfect book!”

The book fair will be open November 17-21 from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Family Night is from 4-6 p.m. on Thursday, November 20. Clifford the Big Read Dog will greet you at the door and you will be entered to win a Family Night Prize Pack.  Books can also be purchased online at http://bookfairs.scholastic.com/homepage/demopolispubliclibrary. The library will add this link to its webpage and Facebook page. Our book fair goal is to help our community purchase and read 1,000 books. Every purchase directly helps the library. Funds raised from the book fair will be used to purchase books for our library. For more information, contact the library at 334-289-1595.
