Lady Tigers shut out Jackson

JACKSON — Danielle Tatum tossed a one-hit shutout to spur Demopolis (5-6-1) to a 4-0 road win over Jackson Tuesday afternoon.

Tatum struck out six over seven innings while walking one on the way to the win. The Lady Tiger offense strung together enough hits to make the effort stand up as six different players recorded base hits in the contest.

“We had timely hits with runners on base when we needed them,” Demopolis head coach Joey Browder said. “We played pretty well all the way around.”

Victoria Washburn went 1-for-3 with a single and a run scored. Tatum went 1-for-3 with a single, allowing Hanna Malone to score in her stead as a courtesy runner.

Sydney Colyar went 3-for-4 with two singles, a triple, a run scored and a RBI. Zoe Lewis went 2-for-4 with a pair of singles and a RBI.

Alexis Jones picked up a RBI. Zarquashia Taylor scored a run. Jade Montgomery went 1-for-3 with a single and a RBI. Olivia Brame was 1-for-3.
