DPD seeking murder suspect after Saturday shooting

WesleyA Saturday night murder has the Demopolis Police Department searching for Travis Doniel Wesley, a 29-year-old black male, of Demopolis. Wesley is wanted for the shooting death of Lequinton Montrell Lomax, 28, of Demopolis.

The murder occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m. Saturday on Wolf Circle in Demopolis.

“We’re asking the community and anyone who has information to turn this individual in to law enforcement before he harms someone else,” Demopolis Police Department Chief Tommie Reese said.

Wesley is listed at 5-11, 173 pounds and is to be considered armed and dangerous according to the DPD. Those with information as to his whereabouts are encouraged to contact the Demopolis Police Department at 334-289-3073 or the Tip Line at 334-289-1457.

The homicide is the first of Reese’s tenure with the department and is the first in Demopolis since 2008, a year in which there were four homicides.
