DPD arrests five juveniles for B&E burglaries

Lock itDuring the months of January through April the Demopolis Police Department has been investigating several incidents of vehicles being broken into in various parts of the city. Information during the investigations has led to the prosecution of five juveniles on various charges. Investigators were able to link the Juveniles to nine reported incidents in the area and one additional incident that had not yet been reported. The juveniles involved will be referred to the Marengo County Juvenile Court for prosecution on the following charges:

(18) Counts of Unlawful Breaking and Entering Vehicles.

(5) Counts of Burglary Third degree

(5) Counts of Criminal Mischief

(2) Counts of Theft of Property

(2) Counts of Fraudulent use of Credit Card

The investigation is still ongoing and additional charges may be added. The investigators were able to recover items stolen in these incidents, including firearms, phones, iPods and other stolen items.

Demopolis Chief of Police Tommie Reese continues to ask everyone to lock their vehicles when left unattended.
