Demopolis sends eight runners to state cross country meet

In the first year in program history, the Demopolis High School Cross Country team sent eight runners to the state meet at Indian Mounds Park in Oakville Saturday.

The Demopolis girls finished 11th place in Class 5A. Gracie Boykin was the high finisher for the Demopolis ladies, completing the course in 22:55.85. Other DHS girls completing the course were Sylvia Clayton, Audrey Boykin, Mary-Michael Bradley and Petra Miranda.

Datrion Fultz ran the course in 18:21.35 to be the first finisher among Demopolis boys. Other finishers for DHS were Banks Compton and Seth Latham.
