Demopolis BOE approves two percent salary increase

The Demopolis City Schools Board of Education held a special called meeting Wednesday at 3 p.m. As part of the agenda, the board approved an across-the-board salary increase of two percent for Demopolis City Schools employees.

The board also voted to approve financing in the amount of $2,029,903.21 toward its new technology project that will upgrade classrooms throughout the system as well as school security cameras among other items.

The vote to approve financing is pending attorney and CSFO review assuming the technology vendor waives a down payment requirement and an early termination fee in addition to providing a deferment option.

The board also voted to approve the hiring of Rebekah Argo as the new Spanish teacher at Demopolis High School.
