Demopolis blasts Clarke County in Saturday tilt

Demopolis scored its runs in bunches Saturday en route to a 10-2 trouncing of Clarke County High.

The Tigers scored four runs in the first, one in the third and five in the seventh while recording seven hits in the contest. The big blow came off the bat of Jonathon Lewis, who stroked a three-run double in the first inning. Demetrious Davis would later add a two-run double.

Davis finished 1-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored. Hunter Colyar went 1-for-5. Jay Craig scored and drove in a run. R.J. Cox finished 1-for-2 with a run scored. Tavion Broadwater scored twice. Ryan Morrison was 1-for-1 with a run scored.

Jamarcus Ezell scored once while Lewis was 1-for-2 with a doulbe three RBIs. Luke Yelverton went 1-for-2 with a double, one RBI and a run scored. Chandler Barton went 1-for-4 with a run scored and one RBI.

The offensive output was more than enough to give Cox the win as he went five innings on the mound, scattering four hits and a walk while striking out four and giving up two earned runs.
