DABC, School Foundation launch “Shop Local” campaign

The Demopolis Area Business Council (DABC), with help from the Demopolis City Schools Foundation. is launching a “Shop Local” awareness campaign. The campaign hopes to create awareness about what shopping local means to the community’s schools and local economy.

Every classroom in the city school system will be visited and DABC members will be passing out stickers and fliers to the students. The flyers will also be run in the newspaper, internet news media, and radio.

Along with this media blitz and school blitz, the Demopolis Area Business Council will hold a weekly prize giveaway on Facebook. Anyone can purchase a good or service, $25 or more, from a local business (Demopolis area) and post a picture on the DABC Facebook page of the product and the receipt. This will enter the individual to win a weekly drawing of one or more $100 gift certificates.
