Charles Bethea

Charles Herbert Bethea, Jr. age 84, of Thomasville, AL, died March 5, 2013 at William F. Green State Veterans Home. He was born June 12, 1928 in Orlando, FL. Charlie was a retired plumber, he served in the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War as a 20 veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He was a member of the VFW Post 5106 in Thomasville, AL and was a member of the Marine Corps League, P. L. Wilson Detachment #447 in Mobile, AL and was a member of the Thomasville United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Lott Nichols Bethea of Thomasville, AL; two sons, Herbie Alan (Angie) Bethea of Chilton, AL; Daryl Bolen (Tracie) Bethea of Birmingham, AL; daughter, Valarie Bethea of Thomasville, AL; two stepsons, Michael “Mike” (Nicole) Nichols of Oklahoma City, OK; Eric Scott (Tanna) Nichols of Elizabethtown, KY; stepdaughter, Michelle “Mitzi” (Jeff) Deas of Goodlettsville, TN; four grandchildren, Tristan Charles Bethea of Chilton, AL; Alexandria Brook (Justin) McPherson of Tuscaloosa, AL; Christopher Blakeney Bethea of Birmingham, AL; Nikki Knight (Andy) Robinson of Madison, MS; four great grandchildren,Taylor Robinson & Stella Rose Robinson both of Madison, MS; Natalie Bethea of Birmingham, AL; James Alex McPherson of Tuscaloosa, AL; four step grandchildren, Eric Thomas (Deanna) Nichols of Yukon, OK; Cheryl Ann (Gilbert) Ayala ofEllenboro, NC; Jennifer Lynetta (Wrangler) Williams of Monroeville, AL; Jason Ray Sigler of Toyko Navel Base, Japan; five step great grandchildren, Thomas Eugene Ayala & Cerria Rose Ayala both of Ellenboro, NC; Nathan Williams & Gunter Williams both of Monroeville, AL; Zoey Ann Nichols of Yukon, OK. Visitation will be held at Thomasville United Methodist Church on March 7, 2013 from 1:00 PM until the 2:00 PM service time with Rev. George Sedberry officiating. Burial will be at Choctaw Corner Cemetery in Thomasville, AL. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Thomasville United Methodist Church, the American Cancer Society, or the Marine Corps League, P. L. Wilson Detachment #447 in Mobile, AL.
