BOE makes personnel moves

The Demopolis City Schools Board of Education made 11 personnel moves during Monday’s monthly meeting. The school system’s governing body voted to allow Westside Elementary School assistant CNP manager Cindy Keasler to withdraw her resignation.

The BOE transferred newly-hired science teacher Jarrett Williamson from the middle school to the high school. The BOE accepted the resignation of DHS Special Education teacher Kelee Williams and posted her position as vacant.

Other personnel moves included the modification of the work schedule of Sherry Feller to four days per week effective Aug. 5 and the decision to accept FMLA for Westside teacher Amanda Harrison.

The board also hired Timie Lee as a DMS science teacher, Tera McCarty as a DHS math teacher and Heather Haynes as a DHS and DMS choral teacher. In an action item following an executive session, the board swapped secretary Dale Smith from U.S. Jones Elementary to the high school and secretary Becky Gibson from the high school to U.S. Jones Elementary.

In other actions, the board approved the list of coaching supplements for the coming academic year as well as the volunteer list. The BOE will scrap two surplus buses that did not sell. The board also voted to enter into an investment banking agreement for QZAB with Royal Bank of Canada.
