Beutler named to Capital One Academic All-District Team

LIVINGSTON — West Alabama junior Evan Beutler was named to the Capital One Academic All-District Division II Men’ s Soccer First Team on Monday.

The team is selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America to recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom. Beutler was one of only two Gulf South Conference men’s soccer athletes to be named to the 12 person team.

The Enterprise, Ala. native is a psychology major who currently holds a perfect 4.00 GPA.

As a midfielder, Beutler posted two goals and three assists in his 14 starts this season. He set the Tigers on the right foot by tallying the game-winning goal in his teams opening 2-1 match victory against Mississippi College.

The honor advances Beutler to the Capital One Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected later this month.
