Bernice Edward Riley

Bernice Edward Riley age 84 of Demopolis, AL died November 14, 2015 at Woodhaven Manor Nursing Home. He was born May 5, 1931 in Newville, AL. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War and was a member of Rangeline Baptist Church. His passion in life was soul winning, lay pastoral ministry, and restoring rural church buildings. He was instrumental in new church starts such as Hope Baptist Church and Rangeline Baptist Church.

He is survived by three sons, Shayne Riley of Caddo, TX; Jerry (Faye) Squires of Sweet Water, AL; and Rev. Bruce (Tammy ) Squires of Helena, AL; four daughters, Michelle (Tim) Wood of Ozark, AL; Barbara (Tom) Sessions of Sweet Water, AL; Mary Nell (Dennis) Smith of Tuscaloosa, AL; and Audrey (Keith) Yeager of Demopolis, AL; brother, Clyde (Carolyn) Riley of Newville, AL; three sisters, Valita Chancy of Ozark, AL; Jean Williams and Patricia Douglas of Satsuma, AL; sister-in-law, Sally Riley of Abbeville, AL; 19 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Laverne Griffin Squires Riley.

Visitation will be held at Rangeline Baptist Church on Monday, November 16, 2015 from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am service time with Rev. Randall Smith, Rev. Bruce Squires, and Rev. Don Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Demopolis Memorial Gardens in Demopolis, AL
