Adolph Franklin Davis

Adolph Franklin Davis, age 81, of Linden, Alabama died October 24, 2015, at home. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at Providence Baptist Church in Gallion, Alabama from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, and funeral service will begin at 11 am with Reverend Warren Huggins and Reverend David Stidham officiating. Burial will be in the Providence Baptist Church Cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie Dewey Davis and Mae Estelle Beckham Davis, and four brothers and five sisters. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Ingram Davis, son, Brooks Davis (Terry), grandchildren, Captain Brandon Reed Davis (Grace), and Stacie Davis Turberville (Ben).

Adolph was born May 31, 1934 in Moundville, Alabama. Adolph served in the United States Army from 1956 to 1958 where he was stationed in Pittsburgh, PA. He married Sandra Ingram on December 12, 1952. After his military service, he began working at James River Corporation, retiring after thirty eight years of service. He served the community of Linden on the board of the Marengo Nursing Home for thirteen years, as well as a brother of the Masonic Lodge of Linden.

Adolph loved bass fishing with friends and family, wood working with his son, Brooks, and bottling pepper sauce for loved ones. He dearly loved his wife, son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be: Brandon Davis, Danny Davis, Mike Dukes, David Ingram, Ben Turberville, and John Wilson.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that contributions be made to the Alabama Baptist Children’s Homes & Family Ministries.
