Small businesses to be focus of outreach program

LIVINGSTON — Area businesses are invited to a rural outreach program Thursday, Sept. 26 hosted by the University of West Alabama’s Small Business Development Center.

The half-day event begins at 8:30 a.m. and continues until 1 p.m. at the Theo Ratliff Activity Center in Demopolis.

The program will provide business finance information through a network of organizations and resources. There is no cost to attend, but registration is recommended.

Representatives from the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development, Small Business Administration (SBA) and SBDC will join with area organizations, including the Demopolis Area Chamber of Commerce. Participants will discuss and explore capital access and investment programs and additional sources of assistance available to help strengthen and grow small businesses.

The event is of particular interest to business owners, as well as lenders, economic developers, chambers of commerce, financial institutions and other partners who need or provide resources for businesses.
