Food packet distribution for students begins Wednesday

Food packets for Demopolis City Schools students will be distributed Wednesday, April 8, at the Demopolis Fire/Rescue Station 3 located on U.S. Hwy. 80 East.

Distribution will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Drivers are directed proceed through the station, and Fire/Rescue personnel will load a packet for each child, said Chief Keith Murray. Meals will be given out until they are gone.

Each food packet is enough to last for several days. Fire/Rescue personnel who live in the Tuscaloosa area are delivering the meals from the Tuscaloosa Food Bank.

Murray said the procedure will continue as long as it is needed. “We’ll keep helping out as much as we can.”
