York murder suspect arrested Monday

Special Agents with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) on Monday, Nov. 30, arrested Stephanie James Moore, 45, of York for the murder of Tony Holloway, 27, also of York.

“After receiving a request for assistance from York Police Chief Brian Harris, SBI Agents responded to the scene to conduct the murder investigation,” said Secretary of Law Enforcement Spencer Collier.  “Our SBI Major Crimes Unit routinely provides assistance to municipal and county law enforcement agencies with complex criminal investigations such as this throughout the state.”

Moore was taken into custody shortly after she turned herself in at the York Police Department. The incident took place shortly before 2 p.m. Monday on Marcus Street near the intersection of 4th Avenue.   Moore is being held at the Sumter County Jail on Murder charges. Bond has not yet been set.

Nothing further is available as the investigation continues.
