Washington hangs 25 in Demopolis win
Demopolis (3-3) used a 33-point third quarter to put away Linden (3-1) Friday en route to a 73-35 home victory.
The teams played to a 9-8 Demopolis advantage in the first quarter before the Lady Tigers went on an 18-10 run in the second frame to hold a 27-18 halftime lead. Demopolis found its stride in the third frame before shifting into cruise control in the game’s final period.
Caleb Washington, who did not play in the first quarter, finished with 25 points to lead a quartet of Lady Tigers who scored in double figures. DeeDee White had 14 for Demopolis. Ivery Moore had 12 while Erika Bennett had 10.
Charquell Compton led Linden with 12. Imiya Agee added 10 for the Lady Patriots. Alexis Johnson, Linden’s leading scorer, finished with seven on a night in which she struggled with foul trouble.
