UWA women’s golf signs McCracken

West Alabama head golf coach Adam Buie has announced the signing of Hannah McCracken to the women’s golf team during the early signing period.

“Hannah is an exceptional student athlete with wonderful academics,” said Buie. “She is a lot of fun to be around and her personality will mix well with the ladies we already have. Hannah is very strong mentally with a great short game. I am very happy to have her join our UWA golf family.”

McCracken will join the Tigers by way of Hewitt-Trussville High School where she has been a two year captain for the varsity golf team. She was Girls 6A State finalist in each of the last three years, being named AHSAA 6A Sectional Low Medalist Runner-up in 2012 and 2013.

Ranked No. 4 of the 2014 class in Alabama by Junior Golf Scoreboard, McCracken is the 2011 and 2012 Ladies Birmingham Golf Association Junior Girl’s Golf Champion.

Off the course, she is a TSA Engineering third place state finalist and a member of four extracurricular clubs including the Spanish National Honors Society.
