UWA volleyball falls to West Florida

rp_primary_VB_13-09-28_IMG_0161aPENSACOLA, Fla. –West Florida’s Autumn Duyn posted 21 kills, the most by any West Alabama opponent to defeat the Tigers 3-0 in Gulf South Conference action on Thursday.

West Alabama (8-8, 2-6 GSC) drops its fourth straight match and its fourth three set sweep of the season. Nationally ranked No. 19 West Florida

(13-4, 7-1) extends to a six-match win streak to remain on top of the GSC rankings. Overall the Argonauts totaled a .267 attack percentage while holding the Tigers to .101.

The 2012 Player of the Year, Duyn now has 208 kills on the year. She ended the match with .500 hitting percentage as well as 10 digs.

The Tigers were held to a combined 23 kills. Morgan Ray led the attack with seven kills. Callie Murphy and Carly Wehling each tallied 10 assists.

UWA volleyball will get a short break before returning to action on Oct. 17 to take on GSC opponent West Georgia. The match is set for 6 p.m. (C.S.T.) in Carrolton, Ga.
