UWA partners with Soggy Bottom Lodge for skeet shoot

LIVINGSTON, Ala.—The University of West Alabama has partnered with premier hunting and fishing
destination Soggy Bottom Lodge to host a skeet shoot benefitting student athletes. The event is set for March 10 at Soggy Bottom Lodge in Marengo County. Options include a team shoot and a fun shoot, with a BBQ lunch included.

The team shoot is open to five-person teams with multiple stations for shooting. The fun shoot gives five participants 10 minutes of shooting each.

Organizers say the event is a unique one-day retreat that will provide opportunities for fellowship, team-building, stewardship, and more.

Participants will be challenged with targets flying in at different angles, directions, varying speeds, and different orders.  Any experienced shooter will have a great time and be challenged to improve their skills in an open, safe, and comfortable setting.

The morning team shooting session is set for 9 a.m. until noon. Following a BBQ lunch, there is a fun shoot from noon until 2 p.m., and an afternoon team shoot from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m.

Three registration options range from $150 to $1,000. Single registration is $150 and covers one person for the fun shoot, BBQ lunch, and one raffle ticket.

At the $500 level, registration includes two shooting positions in the fun shoot, BBQ lunch for two, two raffle tickets, and sponsor recognition.

For the team shoot, a $1,000 sponsorship covers five people, as well as BBQ lunch and raffle tickets for each of the five, and sponsor recognition.

All clay discs and safety gear will be provided, and participants need only to bring an appropriate skeet shooting gun.

All proceeds from the event will benefit the UWA soccer teams to help fund travel, uniforms, and soccer equipment.
