UWA golf cards record score in third round of TVA Credit Union Invite

KILLEN, Ala. – West Alabama men’s golf carded a single-round season best of 298 to finish seventh out of 14 in the final round of the TVA Credit Union Classic at Turtle Point Yacht and Country Club on Monday. The Tigers entered the round in 11th to shoot the third best score on the day.

“We posted a good 298 on a tough 7,133 yard track,” said UWA head golf coach Adam Buie. “We finished seventh in a strong field and passed several historically strong programs. Today was a good day for our young team.”

The host school, North Alabama led the final round with 294 to sweep all three rounds and win the tournament with an 874 overall.

Trevor Page rounded out the third round with 76 to lead the Tigers in the tournament with 8-over par 224 and in 14th place overall.

Harris Stevens and Mason Mitchell both ended with 234 tied for 41st overall. Wesley Etheredge led his on the day with 73 to end with 235.

The Tigers return to the course in their last fall tournament on Oct. 27-29. They will travel to Carrollton, Ga., for the Matt Dyas Invitational.
