Tony Janes

Tony L. Janes, 90, died July 30, 2013 at his residence in Livingston, AL. Funeral services will be Saturday, August 3rd at 10:00 a.m. at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Demopolis with the Reverend Larry Shinnick officiating with internment following at Demopolis Memorial Gardens. Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel is in charge of arrangements. There will be a rosary Friday August 2nd at 6:00 p.m. at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Demopolis. Mr. Janes was a native of Demopolis, AL. and a devoted member of St. Leo’s Catholic Church and a member of the K of C. He moved to Livingston, AL. in 1974, where he attended St. Francis Catholic Church, to become Postmaster at the Livingston, AL. Post Office. He retired from the Post Office in 1978. He was also a World War II Army Veteran serving 4 years in the Pacific. Mr. Janes was preceded in death by his parents Tony Janes and Johana Kalcic Janes; his wife Marcia H. Janes; four sisters, Francis J. Lee, Mary J. King, Rose J. Goulette, and Julia Janes; three brothers, Frank Janes, John Janes, and Joseph Janes. Survivors include one daughter, Theresa J. Greenlee of Nashville, TN. one son, Louis C. Janes of Demopolis, AL; one brother, Florian Janes of Houston, TX. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the St. Leo The Great
Catholic Church Building Fund, 304 South Walnut Ave, Demopolis, AL. 36732.
