Tigers thump Central twice to remain unscathed in area

Demopolis (11-2) remained unscathed in area play with a pair of wins over Area 6 foe Central-Tuscaloosa. The Tigers downed the Falcons 10-0 Tuesday night and 13-0 Thursday.

In the Tuesday contest, Adam Brooker paced the club with four goals. Cristian Velez added two. Matt Beckum, Clay McVay, Alex Marvilla and Zachary Chu each scored one.

Demopolis followed that effort with a relentless barrage Thursday night that made short work of the Falcons. Central had an own goal as part of the Tiger scoring. Brooker scored three goals. Chu and McVay each had two. Ashley Dunn, Nick Helms, Patrick Rosales, Tyler Pipkins and Maravilla scored one apiece.

The routs marked only the third and fourth games for the Tigers in the last month. Demopolis returned to action after a long layoff last week when they blasted Holt 10-0. Brooker scored four goals in that effort while Velez and Chu notched three each.

Demopolis then lost only its second game of the year when it traveled to Northridge last Thursday where it fell 3-2. Brooker had both goals in that match.
