Tigers at 1-1 in tourney so far

DOTHAN — The Demopolis High varsity basketball team will wrap up play in the Southeast Alabama Christmas Tournament today when it challenges Dothan in a game scheduled to tip at 4:30 p.m.

The Tigers opened tournament play Thursday with a 73-63 loss to Class 6A No. 4 Murphy. Kiante Jeffries led the Tigers with 24 points in the loss while Roderick Davis chipped in 14.

Demopolis, now 4-6 on the season, rebounded with a 58-47 win over Cottage Hill Christian Friday. Cortez Lewis paced the Tigers with 16 points in that contest while Tommy Wilson finished with 14 and Davis added 11.

The Tigers will return to action Friday, Dec. 28 when they compete in the Washington County Holiday Tournament.
