Three arrested in shooting death of Greene County toddler

Special Agents with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) and deputies with the Greene County Sherriff’s Office, in coordination with the District Attorney’s Office in the 17th Circuit arrested three subjects in connection with the murder of a three-year-old child on Friday, Sept. 4.

The subjects are Tymon Leotis Davis, 18, of Knoxville, Ala.; Labryant Kumane Whitehead, 19, of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; and Harper Dewayne Colvin, 32, of Knoxville, Ala.

The incident took place at approximately 3:15 p.m. Friday at a residence on Baron Road in Knoxville. Davis, Whitehead and Colvin all surrendered shortly before 7 p.m. the same day. Davis and Whitehead are being held at the Greene County Jail on Felony Hindering Prosecution charges.  Colvin is being held at the Greene County Jail on Murder and Discharging a Firearm into an Occupied Vehicle charges. Bond has not been set.

“As the state’s law enforcement agency, ALEA is committed to using our resources to assist county and municipal agencies in complex criminal investigations and the apprehension of dangerous criminals,” said Secretary of Law Enforcement Spencer Collier.

Nothing further is available as the investigation continues.
