Janie Crawford, a student at Thomasville High School, has been notified that her poem, “Emotion’s Graveyard”, has advanced to the semi-final round of the National Amateur Poetry Competition, sponsored by Eber and Wein Publishing Company.

IMG_1804Crawford’s poem will be published in a series called Where the Mind Dwells. This anthology will be available at Amazon.com and the Barnes and Noble website. Publication of the poem gives the young poet a unique opportunity to receive a worldwide audience for her writing. The poem will also be entered in the final judging in which the winner will be awarded $2,000.

Crawford wrote the poem in the spring, and took it for proofing and editing to Mrs. Cindy Lambert, her sophomore Language Arts teacher at THS. Mrs. Lambert was so impressed that she urged Crawford to enter a national poetry contest.

Crawford is the daughter of Jenny and Kevin Crawford. She is a junior at Thomasville High School.
