Thomaston PD arrests two in traffic stop

On Jan. 10 at 1:04 a.m., a traffic stop by the Thomaston Police Department resulted in two drug-related arrests. Carl Kizziah, 42, of Duncanville, Ala., was arrested for DUI – Controlled Substance. Paul Dexter Ray, 62, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., was arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance (two counts), Tampering with Physical Evidence, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

After obtaining consent to search, a total of 14.9 grams of methamphetamine, 27 prescription pills, and drug paraphernalia were located in the vehicle and on the person of one of the suspects.

Thomaston Mayor Jeff Laduron said he expects to see more drug-related arrests as the TPD adds more officers and patrols throughout the town with a focus of removing drugs from the community.
