Truelove wasted no time putting Sumter back in the lead at 19-16, following his blockers for a 34-yard score. Following a Sumter turnover, Lowndes threatened to put the Eagles behind two scores going in to halftime. Freshman safety, Anderson Newman, would keep the deficit at four with a shoestring tackle at Sumter’s 3 yard line as the half expired.
