Sumter crash kills unidentified driver

A single-vehicle crash Saturday, June 13, claimed one life. The unidentified driver was killed when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree before catching fire. Identification of the driver is pending confirmation from the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences due to the fire.

The crash occurred at 12:40 a.m. on Alabama 28 at the 17.6 mile marker, which is approximately seven miles east of Livingston. Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
