Strong showing for DHS cheerleaders leads three Lady Tigers to All-American status

The Demopolis High School cheerleading squad recently attended the UCA Cheer Camp at the University of Alabama.

The DHS ladies won first place in Sideline, second in Cheer, fourth in Extreme Routine and second Overall.

In addition to numerous superior ribbons, spirit sticks and “the Banana,” the squad saw a trio of girls make All-American. That trio consisted of Caroline Overmyer, Kate Floyd and Caitlin Thrash. Additionally, mascots Madeline Warren and Julia Singleton also made All-American.

“Pin It Forward” leadership pins went to Anna Caroline Logan, Savannah Horshok, McKenzie Walker and Overmyer.

Squad sponsor Allene Jones took Best Coach honors during the Shipwrecked Pep Rally.
