Soccer Fest is an opportunity for kids to play games of 3-vs.-3 and have a fun introduction to playing soccer, and also to register for the Fall Season.

For parents wanting to learn more about the game, or to help coach their children in soccer, there will be a Free Youth 2 Module (Y2M) Coaching Clinic Saturday, Sept. 6 at 2 p.m. at the Demopolis Sportplex. The clinic will apply to coaching ages Under-10 and Under-12.

The course will be presented by the Alabama Soccer Association in partnership with U.S. Youth Soccer. For more information, please contact Trent Parker at 334-341-2353.

Recreational games begin the second week of September through mid-to-late October and are played on Tuesday and Thursday with high school level play on Monday evenings. Post-season competitive play is also scheduled after the recreational season.

Last year the Demopolis River City Soccer Club hosted five Meridian, Miss. All-Star teams in U10-U18 for a very successful inaugural soccer tournament at the Sportsplex.
