Shooting suspect arrested, charged with first degree assault

Christopher Banks, who was wanted for the first degree assault on Joe Vaughn, has been arrested.

pic - banksDemopolis Police Chief Tommie Reese said that Banks turned himself in to the Demopolis Police Department on Thursday morning around 10:30 a.m. Banks was arrested without incident.

Banks was processed at DPD and later transported to the Marengo County Detention Center to await a bond hearing.

Reese expressed his appreciation to the members of the Demopolis Police Department for their hard work in the case.

Banks, 27, has resided in both Gallion and Greene County.

Banks allegedly shot Vaughn Saturday, Oct. 26 at approximately 5:50 p.m. Vaughn was transferred to Druid City Hospital in Tuscaloosa where he was treated for gunshot wounds to the leg.
