School Foundation honors contributors during celebration

The Demopolis City Schools Foundation held its annual Appreciation Celebration Tuesday evening at the Coplin Building. Honored for contributions at the Executive level were Foster Farms, Rock Tenn and Georgia-Pacific. DCSF Membership Chairman Kim Townsend announced that more than $69,000 had been contributed to the Foundation in the past year.

Recognized at the Patron level were Alabama Power, Cemex, Jackson-Newell Foundation, Demopolis Rotary Club and Louise Webb Reynolds. Foundation Executive Director Amanda Barnes noted that the organization now has $926,000 in its endowment, and is rapidly closing in on its $1 million "Hallelujah Goal."
