Sarah Ann Montz Hammack, 72, of Linden, died January 26, 2017 at Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital in Demopolis, Alabama.
Ann was born December 16, 1944, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama at Druid City Hospital, to the late Chester Newton and Mary Louise Robinson Montz. She is preceded in death by her parents, and a brother Patrick Newton Montz. Ann leaves behind a husband John Timothy Hammack of Linden; daughters Beverly Atkinson (Jerry) and Teresa Lamb (Michael) both of Linden; sons Larry Burge (Hazel) of Sweetwater, Samuel Burge, Jr. of Sweetwater, John Hammack, jr. (Gera) of North Dakota, Christopher Hammack of Forkland, and Robert S. Hammack of Montgomery; a sister Lyquinta Glass (Dwain) of Linden; a brother Frankie Montz of Thomasville; 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Rangeline Baptist Church with Bro. Randall Smith officiating and Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel will be directing. Burial will follow the service at Demopolis Memorial Gardens, Active pallbearers will be Marcus Anderson, Jeremy Atkinson, Chris Montz, Jerry Atkinson, Will Glass, and James Lancaster. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of Rangeline Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family ask memorials please be made in Ann’s memory to Rangeline Baptist Church, The American Heart Association POB 840692 Dallas, Texas 75284-0692 or the charity of one’s choice.
