Rotary Club golf tourney set for May 3

The Demopolis Rotary Club will holds its 40th annual charity golf tournament Friday, May 3 at the Demopolis Country Club.

The event, which features a four-ball division and a two-man scramble division, serves as one of the club’s primary fundraisers and sees half of its proceeds donated to Camp ASCCA, Alabama’s Special Camp for Children and Adults.

The remaining funds are used for various works the club executes throughout the local community.

The two-man scramble division is limited to the first 24 teams that register and pay the $90 entry fee. Additional entries will be placed in a separate division until the field is full.

The four-ball division will consist of the two-man team with the best per-hole score. The four-ball division is also limited to the first 24 teams that register and pay the accompanying entry fee.

The tournament’s entry fee includes a complementary steak dinner Thursday night, May 2 as well as lunch the day of the tournament in addition to 27 holes of golf, free refreshment on the course, a free practice round May 2 and assorted gifts and prizes.

There will also be hole-in-one prizes given away on each Par 3. Those prizes include $10,000 in gas from Parr’s Inc., $10,000 in cash from Robertson Banking Company, $10,000 in cash from Trustmark Bank and a new golf cart from Plaza Golf Carts.

Entry forms can be found at Marengo Insurance, Batter Up Sports Grill and Demopolis Country Club. Entry forms are due by Tuesday, April 30.

The steak dinner and social will be from 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday, May 2.
