Robinson throws five TD passes in Patriot rout

DIXON’S MILLS — Anthony Robinson figured in six touchdowns as Linden thumped Marengo High 58-0 Friday night.

Robinson opened the scoring with a 56-yard punt return before Terrance Sanders cashed in a two-point conversion run to put Linden up 8-0.

Robinson then proceeded to throw five touchdown passes for the Patriots, a squad known primarily for its punishing ground attack and stifling defense.

“I thought we needed that work. I thought we needed to execute that part of our game instead of just going out there and running the ball, running one or two plays and just getting into the end zone,” Linden head coach Andro Williams said of the strategy shift for the Patriots. “We worked on what they gave us.”

Robinson hit Jalen Lewis on three consecutive touchdown passes, covering six, 10 and 21 yards respectively. The Linden signal caller then hooked up with Kynard Craig for a pair of end zone strikes, the first of which covered 15 yards while the second went for 44.

Jamal Lewis added a three-yard touchdown run for Linden while Prentiss McQuiston scored on a 34-yard dash and Sanders found the end zone on a 63-yard sprint.

Robinson finished the night 13 of 16 for 262 yards and five scores.

Linden (7-0) is scheduled to play John Essex next week.
