Rhae Wins the Heart of the Judges and the Crown
The annual Little Miss Christmas on the River 2014 was held tonight at the Demopolis Civic Center under the direction of Lisa Moody. With thirty seven contestants, the house was packed to see what bundle of cuteness and beauty would win the title for 2014. After announcing the top 18 and the winners from the previous divisions, Van Kelly announced the new queen and her court.
In a turquoise tulle ball gown, the fourth alternate was Emery Elizabeth Wideman. Third alternate, wearing a beautiful coral gown, was Kylie Elizabeth Stokes. Dressed in a white taffeta gown with silver sequins was second alternate, Alle Grace Quarles. Mary Carlton Parten was awarded first alternate wearing a handmade dress adorned with lace, pearls, and swarovski crystals. Crowned Little Miss Christmas on the River 2014 was Rhae Busby, wearing a tiered chiffon gown with a cranberry sash. She won the heart of the judges and turned everyone in the room “Team Rhae”. Rhae is the 6 year old daughter of Jay and Dana Busby. She attends Westside Elementary, where she is in the first grade.
When asked what she liked most about being in the pageant, Rhae simply said, “Winning!” She also looks forward to all of the Christmas on the River activities, especially riding in the parade.
