Prayer Walk to include special time for recovering teacher
First Baptist Church’s annual Prayer Walk for Demopolis City Schools, which is scheduled for Sunday afternoon at 4:30, will include a special time of prayer for Westside Elementary teacher Amanda Harrison.
Harrison is home recovering from a severe bout of encephalitis.
The event will begin in the First Baptist Sanctuary at 4:30 p.m Sunday, Aug. 11, then individuals will have the opportunity to go to one of the system’s four schools – Westside Elementary, U.S. Jones, Demopolis Middle School and Demopolis High, along with First Baptist’s WEE School – to pray for the upcoming school year.
Prayer Walkers will be able to go inside the schools to spend time praying.
All Prayer Walkers are invited to return to FBC at 6 p.m. for a brief time of prayer and fellowship.
A special invitation is extended to teachers, staff, students and families in the Demopolis school system.
Childcare will be available, and bottled water will be provided.
