Over 100 community members came together for a prayer vigil honoring missing Demopolis native Rebecca Henderson Paulk Thursday in the Demopolis Town Square.

“I’m holding on to Jesus, and Jesus is holding on to Rebecca,” said Janet Henderson, Rebecca’s mother, during the vigil.

Paulk, who has been missing since Labor Day, is a 2007 graduate of Demopolis High School. She was last seen in a store in Meridian, Miss. Her car, a white 2006 Honda Civic, was found two days later on Ponds Road in the Whynot community southeast of Meridian. Personal items, including a purse, medication, an iPad, and a laptop were all found in the car. Paulk’s cell phone was not in the car.

“It’s a nightmare from hell,” said Henderson. “I want her to be alive, but this not knowing is unbearable.

Paulk is 5 feet 6 inches tall, approximately 145 pounds, and has blond hair.

The Hendersons are offering a $5000 reward for information regarding the disappearance.

The Lauderdale County Sheriff’s Office asks that anyone with information on her call 601-486-4952 or 601-482-9806. Alternatively, information may be sent to Paulk’s parents via Facebook.
