Pilot Club golf tourney June 1

The Demopolis Pilot Club will host their 2nd Annual 2-Person Scramble Golf Tournament Saturday, June 1, at The Ravine Golf Course in Demopolis.

Check in registration begins at 7:30 a.m., with a shotgun start at 8:45 a.m.

The cost for this event is only $75 per person*. Registration fee includes 18 holes of golf, shared cart, individual contest prizes and awards. Personal carts are welcome at this event.

There will be an awards presentation directly after golf at the Sports-Plex Pavilion. First Place Team – $300, Second Place Team – $200 and Third Place – $150.

The last place team will receive a free basket of range balls. In addition, awards will be given for longest drive and closest to pin.

Chartered in 1947, the Pilot Club of Demopolis is part of Pilot International.

Its focus is on brain-related disorders and disabilities. Pilot Club presents the Brain Minders™ Program to all first graders in Marengo County, presenting them with a certificate of participation and coloring books.

Fingerprinting is done by members at Kindergarten Registration at Westside Elementary. The group assists with the Valentine Party for participants of the Marengo County Activity Center, furnish socks for Woodhaven Nursing Home at Christmas and a birthday party for residents in June, provide supplies for Harriet’s House needs, and we sponsor a child to Camp ASCCA. We provide funding for Project Lifesaver for Marengo County.

Three $1,000 gift scholarships are given to graduating seniors. The Pilot Club sponsors the Demopolis High School Anchor Club.
