Panthers hang 54 on McIntosh for region win

DIXON’S MILLS — Marengo High (4-2, 3-1) was staring at a 12-0 deficit early before erupting for a 54-point outburst en route to a 54-18 win over McIntosh.

The Panthers scored once in the first quarter and twice in the second to carry an 18-12 lead into the halftime locker room. Marengo then hung 24 points on the board in the third quarter and 12 more in the fourth for the win.

Cordarius Pritchett continued his breakneck pace, accounting for six touchdowns for the second consecutive week. Pritchett threw three touchdown passes and ran for two scores. The signal-caller also came up big on defense, intercepting a pair of passes and returning one of them 84 yards for a touchdown.

Michael Kennedy had a 69-yard kickoff return for a touchdown and hauled in two touchdown passes. De’angelos Crispin recorded 12 tackles on defense with three sacks and a safety and also had more than 100 receiving yards and a touchdown.

The Panthers step out of region play next week against Keith.
