One arrested, charged in Reid hit-and-run case

On Dec. 31, 2015, the Demopolis Police Department made an arrest in the hit-and-run that occurred on Bell Grayson Road where William Christopher Reid was killed on Nov. 29, 2015.  Demopolis Police Chief Tommie Reese confirmed that Herman Gilmore, Jr., aged 44 of Eutaw, Alabama, was arrested and charged with:

  1. Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Injuries
  2. Tampering with Physical Evidence
  3. Possession of Cocaine

According to Reese, the DPD has the vehicle involved in the hit and run case in custody. Reese also commended his officers for keeping a sharp eye out and their persistence in the investigation.
