MA’s Griffith earns Teacher of the Year award
AISA 2014-2015 Secondary Teacher of the Year is Leigh Griffith from Marengo Academy.
Mrs. Leigh Griffith graduated in 2004 from the University of West Alabama with a bachelors in History Education and a Masters of Arts in Teaching History in 2006. She has been an integral part of Marengo Academy for nine years. She currently teaches 10th and 11th Grade History, Government, Economics and Algebra I.
Mrs. Griffith has received multiple awards including Marengo Academy SGA High School Teacher of the Year for two years, Who’s Who Among American Teachers and Who’s Who Among College and University Students. She is the Advisor of the Student Government Association and sponsor of the Middle School Math Team. She is Co-Chairman of the Marengo Academy AdvancED Steering Committee and is the Chairman of the AISA Accreditation Committee.
Mrs. Griffith is married to her husband Jason for ten years and has two beautiful daughters. She attends the Thomaston Baptist Church where she is a very active member.
