Marengo historical groups holding special event

Celebrate Native American Month with Betsy Irwin, Education Outreach Coordinator at Moundville Archaeological Park/University of Alabama, on Thursday, Nov. 15 at 6 p.m. at the Marengo County History & Archives Museum at the Rosenbush Building on Walnut Avenue in historic downtown Demopolis.

Irwin will present 10,000 Years in an Hour. Learn about the archaeology, prehistory and history of Alabama Indians. See and touch artifacts and reproductions representing cultures as old as 10,000 B.C.

Learn the basic principles of archaeology and what distinguishes different prehistoric Indian cultures from one another.

The event, sponsored by the Marengo County History & Archives Museum and the Marengo County Historical Society, is free and open to the first 75 people to sign up. Please call 334-341-3439 to sign up for event.
