Marengo County History & Archives Museum announces new holiday event

heritage treesThe Marengo County History & Archives Museum is proud to announce a new Holiday event – Heritage Trees of Marengo County.

Students of U. S. Jones’ 3rd Grade Enrichment program have spent time learning about how the five major heritages of Marengo County celebrated the holidays. The students then made ornaments that represent each of the five heritages – Native Americans, French Exiles, White Settlers, African Americans, and Jewish Immigrants. Those handmade ornaments will be on display at the Marengo County History & Archives Museum’s Heritage Trees exhibit.

Special thanks to all the students for their hard work, and their teachers, Julie Harrison, Johnnie Scott and Mary Stuedeman.
