Marengo Academy break-in leads to two arrests

Two suspects are in custody following a break-in that occurred at Marengo Academy approximately 1 a.m. Tuesday.

With the assistance of security camera footage, Linden Police Department officers identified and apprehended Kade Burkhalter and Ricardo Boone. Both are currently charged with burglary as a result of the incident.

Linden Police Department Chief Scott McClure said no items were stolen during the incident.

“They damaged some doors in the break-in process. They did cause some property damage. Mostly just that. They went in writing on some boards,” McClure said. “They didn’t really do any damage inside of the building. Nothing was really stolen. Mainly it was a bunch of mischief. Of course, it’s still burglary.”
