LPD officer receives VFW award

On Tuesday, April 9 Linden Police Department D.A.R.E. Officer Sonja Myles received the VFW J. Edgar Hoover Award. Billy Drake of the local VFW Post presented the award. Chief Scott McClure nominated Officer Myles for the award as recognition for the devotion that she has given to the newly started D.A.R.E. Program and the Linden Police Department.

McClure stated that Officer Myles has dedicated many hours to D.A.R.E. and several other programs in the department.

“She has become a part of our schools and is loved by all the children she teaches,” McClure said. “Congratulations to D.A.R.E. Officer Sonja Myles for a job well done.”
