Linden’s Tucker is UWA Homecoming Queen

LIVINGSTON —- Chelsea Tucker of Linden was crowned Homecoming Queen at the University of West Alabama on Wednesday night. The court was presented for the first time at UWA’s annual Serendipity talent show, a long-standing homecoming tradition in Livingston. She is the daughter of Costella and Clyde Duke.

Tucker is a junior majoring in athletic training. A graduate of Linden High School, Tucker’s campus involvement includes the Scarlet Color Guard, Student Support Services, Delta Sigma Theta, the campus newspaper, and yearbook. Tucker has also served as a UWA Ambassador, a UWA Housing resident assistant, and an orientation leader.

The court includes freshman maid Sheridan Galyon of Tuscaloosa; sophomore maid Tierra Robinson of Eufaula; Angy Cuellar of Bogota, Colombia; Hanna Baker of Guin; Teia Lee of Meridian, Miss.; and Alesha McNeese of Ardmore.

The queen and her court will be featured in the homecoming parade to be held at 10 a.m. in downtown Livingston. They will be presented formally during halftime ceremonies at the UWA vs. Shorter College game on Saturday. Kickoff for the game is at 3:30 p.m.
