Linden stifles McIntosh

LINDEN — The Patriots (3-1, 3-0) parlayed a 21-point second quarter into a 46-0 win over Class 1A, Region 1 foe McIntosh Friday night.

Terrance Sanders scored on a six-yard run in the first quarter to open the scoring. Jeffery Stacy added to the advantage when he hauled in a 30-yard touchdown pass from D.J. Charleston in the second quarter. Prentiss McQuiston added the two-point conversion run for the 14-0 lead.

Devonte Knox then scored from 10 yards out and 11 yards out to put Linden up 27-0 at half.

Demarcus Gilmore got in on the action in the third quarter when he scored twice on a pair of two-yard runs. Tywan Smith punctuated the scoring with an 86-yard fumble return for a touchdown.

Gilmore led the rushing effort with 122 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries. Knox added 101 yards on 13 carries. McQuiston finished with 63 yards on 11 carries.

The Patriots got five interceptions from five different players on the night as Stacy, Sanders, Dequan Charleston, D.J. Charleston and Kynard Craig each picked off a pass.

Linden is set to travel to undefeated Bibb County next Friday night.
