Linden sends 17 to weight meet

Linden High School football coach and athletic director Andro Williams recently took 17 student athletes to compete in the Thomasville Area Weight Meet at Thomasville High School. Linden’s young men came home with 10 trophies.

Jonathan Biggs (eightth grade) won Seconnd Place in his weight class (up to 125), and Christopher Robinson (eightth grade) won thirrd place in the same weight class.

In the 126-139 weight class, LHS junior Terrance Sanders brought home the First Place title and trophy and LHS junior Christopher Henton won Second Place.

In the 140-149 weight class, LHS sophomore Demarcus Gilmore won the Second Place trophy.

In the 160-170 weight class, LHS sophomore Cordarius Scruggs won the Second Place trophy.

In the 171-180 weight class, LHS sophomore Samuel Monroe won the Second Place trophy and LHS junior Patrick McIntosh won the Third Place trophy.

Christopher Rogers, a junior at LHS, was the most highly decorated Linden Patriot competitor, bringing home two titles and two trophies. In the 241-260 weight class, Rogers was the top competitor, winning First Place.

Rogers also received the Highest Power Clean title and trophy with an impressive lift of 315 pounds.
